Initially, neither of us had thought to have a wedding registry. Given that we are both nearing 40 and have fully established households, we do not wish to add more “stuff.” This is especially true as we wish to move overseas. We also feel uncomfortable asking for gifts from people who cannot be invited to or attend the wedding.
Instead, we invite our friends and family to celebrate our union in one of the following ways:
- Donating to Planned Parenthood (“M&Em’s Wedding”)
- Donating to your local LGBTQ+ youth shelter
- Donating to the Trans Lifeline
- Donating to the Trevor Project
- Donating to RAICES
- Donating to a local, social justice-oriented nonprofit
If you still feel moved to give us a gift, we would gladly and gratefully accept a donation to our adventure in Europe. Please be sure to send it “Friends & Family” and include a note — we hope to send everyone photos from France!

- $60: annual household membership to the Cluny Museum (Museum of the Middle Ages)
